Twist Miami Beach is a 21-and-over gay bar and dance club at 1057 Washington Avenue in South Beach. It is open every day from 3 p.m. to 5 a.m. and never charges a cover. Inside, seven bars and three dance floors spread across two stories. Happy hour runs daily from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with two-for-one drinks. Each night has its own party, from Latin shows to karaoke and drag, and the entire club opens by 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Inside Twist: Seven Bars, Three Dance Floors
Twist is built as a set of separate rooms rather than one big space. The rooms are the Main Room, the upstairs Patio Bar, the Bungalow Bar, Bar 4 and the Latin Room, also called Bar 5. A garden hosts happy hour and Sunday events.
Three dance floors run at the same time. A Latin set can play in one room while a house set plays in another. The mix of indoor bars, the open-air patio and the garden lets you move between air-conditioned rooms and outdoor seats all night.
Drinks and Happy Hour
Happy hour runs every day from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with two-for-one pricing on everything. Specialty cocktails, including an espresso martini and a spicy mango margarita, are served at the upstairs Patio Bar only.
Nightly deals add to that. Mondays bring $25 buckets of Corona. On Tuesdays, green teas cost $10 in Bar 4. Karaoke on Wednesdays comes with a free shooter for every song. Drag and dance shows start at midnight on most nights.
A Long-Running Washington Avenue Club
Twist has operated on Washington Avenue since the 1990s. That makes it one of the longest-running clubs on the strip. Its motto, “Never a cover, always a groove,” sums up the format: seven bars, three dance floors and a themed party every night of the year. Readers of Miami New Times voted Twist Best Gay Bar in the Best of Miami 2026 readers’ poll.
Weekly Parties at Twist
Twist runs a different party every night. The events calendar on the club’s website lists the current lineup:
- Mondays, ¡Sigue La Rumba!: a Latin dance show by Osmany and Adialaa, “Los Hermanos del Sabor,” at midnight in Bar 5. Buckets of Corona cost $25.
- Tuesdays, Akasha Tuesdays: Akasha O’Hara Lords performs at midnight. Green teas cost $10 in Bar 4 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Wednesdays, Karaoke Wednesdays: singing in the Bungalow Bar from 10 p.m., with a free shooter for every song.
- Thursdays, Sabroso Thursdays: a Latin party hosted by Poizon Ivy. It has a midnight show, live percussion by Angel Emilio and DJ ARSE in the Main Room until 5 a.m.
- Fridays, Hot Fridays: DJ Tony Zuccaro plays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. CC Glitzer performs a midnight show in the Main Room.
- Saturdays: the entire club opens at 10 p.m., with guest DJs in the Main Room until 5 a.m.
- Sundays: Hot Mess BBQ & Brew brings a free happy-hour barbecue and two-for-one drinks to the garden from 5 p.m. Later, Fiesta Latina Sundays features Josefina La Mujer De Los Globos, a Latin comedy drag act, at midnight. VJ Jaime plays Latin beats in Bar 5.
Earlier in the week and earlier in the evening, fewer of the seven bars are open. If you want a specific theme night, plan around that party’s start time. The club’s 3 p.m. opening covers happy hour, not the full club.
Cover Charge, Age Policy and VIP Tables
Entry is walk-in, and there is never a cover charge on any night of the week. Guests must be 21 or older with a valid ID. On weekends, arrive before midnight to avoid the line.
There is no reservation system for general entry. The only bookable option is a VIP bottle table. To request one, email vip@twistsobe.com. For other questions, call the club at (305) 538-9478 or visit the Twist South Beach website.
Who Twist Suits
Twist suits guests who want a multi-room gay club where the music and crowd change from room to room. It also works well if you want to start with a cheap happy hour before the late crowd arrives.
The weekly themes are a big draw. Karaoke, the Thursday Latin party and the Sunday barbecue run every week. However, Twist is not the place for a quiet sit-down drink late at night. After 10 p.m., the focus is on dancing and shows.
Getting There
Washington Avenue is the spine of South Beach nightlife, two blocks west of Ocean Drive. Twist sits between 10th and 11th Streets in the Art Deco district. Most of the other nightclubs on the strip are within walking distance. The beach is a few blocks east, and Lincoln Road is about six blocks north.
Washington Avenue and the side streets have metered street parking. Weekend nights bring heavy foot and car traffic, so allow extra time to park or arrive by rideshare. Because the beach and Lincoln Road are close by, Twist works well as one stop on a longer South Beach evening.
What to Expect Through the Night
Twist changes character across its fourteen-hour day. From 3 p.m., it feels like a neighborhood bar. The patio and garden are the best seats, happy hour is running, and it’s quiet enough to talk.
Between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., two-for-one pricing ends and the rooms start to fill. The Latin Room and the Main Room draw separate crowds with different music. After midnight, all three dance floors are usually running, and the busiest stretch is between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.
Because there is no cover, moving between rooms, or leaving and coming back, costs nothing. If you want the space without the crowd, arrive in the afternoon. For the full club experience on a weekend, arrive between 10 p.m. and midnight to beat the line.
