Ima Yoga Studio

Highlight

  • Private Events Private Events

Ima Yoga Studio runs infrared-heated yoga, Pilates and movement classes on the second floor of a building on West Avenue in Sunset Harbour. The studio says its hatha-based Ima series is the core of the schedule. Flow, Power Flow, Yin and Hot Pilates fill out the week. This guide covers the room, the classes, the prices and the house rules, so you can arrive prepared.

The Modo Yoga years and the rebrand

Ima Yoga is the former Modo Yoga Miami Beach, as the Greater Miami tourism board notes. The studio explains on its FAQ page that the owners and instructors stayed the same. Only the name and some class titles changed.

The old Modo class became Ima All Levels. The old Modo Flow class became Ima Flo. Memberships, class packs and gift cards carried over because the booking system stayed on Mindbody.

The studio left the Modo franchise, so travel passes no longer work everywhere. It still accepts passes from the Modo studios in New York City, Paris and London.

Infrared heat and the 98-degree room

The studio describes itself as an infrared hot yoga studio. Most classes run in a heated room. The FAQ page puts the temperature at about 98 degrees. It warns that the room can get hotter when classes fill up in peak season.

Not every class runs hot. Body Sculpt, the glute and core class, is unheated. Ballet Body Flow uses a gently warmed room. Check the class name before you book if you want a cooler session.

Plan for a lot of sweat. The studio suggests light, breathable clothing that dries quickly. It also recommends a change of clothes for after class.

Ima series, Flow and Power Flow

The Ima series is the signature class. The studio calls it a therapeutic, alignment-based sequence of postures and breathing exercises in a heated room. It welcomes all levels, so it works as a first class and as a long-term practice.

Power Flow is a hot vinyasa class with faster transitions and some advanced postures. The studio asks students to feel comfortable with the Ima Flow sequence first. Power II continues that class in a gently heated room of about 90 degrees. The studio reserves it for experienced practitioners.

Dynamic Vinyasa Flow moves more slowly than Power Flow. It builds the sequence pose by pose and stays accessible to all levels. The class descriptions list every style in full.

Yin, Hot Pilates and Creative Movement for slower days

Yin classes hold restorative poses for three to five minutes each. The studio adds variations: Yin with acupressure, a sound bath, massage or mobility work. These sessions suit rest days and tired muscles.

Hot Pilates is a full-body mat class. It opens with 15 minutes of low-impact, high-intensity work using ankle and wrist weights, a ball and a ring. Ten minutes of stretching close the class.

Creative Movement is a dance-inspired class created by instructor Ashli Katz. It requires no knowledge of yoga pose names. The class raises your heart rate to a playlist and then winds down with a gentle vinyasa flow.

The studio also offers a 200-hour teacher certification, a 20-hour teacher intensive and a sound healing school. The main site lists all three under its teacher trainings menu.

The $70 intro offer, memberships and private sessions

New students can buy a $70 introductory special. It gives two weeks of unlimited classes. The offer is limited to one per student.

The pricing page lists three membership tiers:

  • Standard: $175 per month for unlimited classes, with a four-month minimum.
  • Sunset: $155 per month for unlimited classes after 5 PM, plus a $20 drop-in rate before 5 PM.
  • One month unlimited: $199 with no commitment.

After the four-month minimum, a membership rolls over month to month. Cancelling needs 30 days of written notice by email. A freeze needs 14 days of notice and can last up to 90 days per calendar year.

Private sessions cost $150 per hour for one person and $200 per hour for two. The private classes page says beginners, advanced students and groups celebrating birthdays or bachelorette parties all book them. Ask the studio about small-group rates.

Booking, cancellations and the five-minute door rule

Students book classes through the Mindbody app, the Ima Yoga app, or by calling the studio. The schedule page shows current class times. The studio’s phone number is (786) 216-7878 if the schedule does not load.

Cancel at least two hours before class. A late cancellation costs $10. A no-show costs $20. Drop-in and class-package students also lose the class credit.

The studio policies enforce a strict start. Students get a five-minute grace period. After that, the door stays closed with no exceptions. First-timers should arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to sign waivers and set up their mat.

Posted hours: 7:30 AM-8:30 PM weekdays, 7:30 AM-6:30 PM Saturday, 8:30 AM-6:30 PM Sunday. Doors open 30 minutes before and after every class, so the class schedule sets your real window.
